The Iceberg Electric Blue Cichlid is scientifically known as Sciaenochromis Fryeri, and it is commonly referred to as the “Iceberg” cichlid. With a balanced diet and proper care, this cichlid can live for 8-10 years or longer. 

Origin: 

This cichlid is native to Lake Malawi in East Africa, where it inhabits rocky areas along the shoreline.

Tank Setup:

To provide a suitable environment for the Iceberg Electric Blue Cichlid, a spacious aquarium with plenty of hiding spots and rocky caves is recommended. The tank should have a sandy substrate and be decorated with rocks and driftwood to mimic its natural habitat.

Diet:

These cichlids are omnivorous and have a varied diet. They primarily feed on small invertebrates, insects, and crustaceans in the wild. In captivity, they can be fed a combination of high-quality pellets, flakes, frozen foods, and occasional live foods to ensure a balanced diet.

Size:

The Iceberg Electric Blue Cichlid can grow up to 6-8 inches in length, with males being slightly larger than females. They have a moderate growth rate and reach their full size within a couple of years.

Behavioural Traits:

This cichlid is known for its peaceful nature, making it suitable for community tanks with other non-aggressive fish species. However, males can become territorial during breeding and may display aggression towards other males. They are active swimmers and enjoy exploring their surroundings.

Water Parameters: 

These cichlids thrive in water with a temperature range of 75-82°F (24-28°C) and a pH level of 7.5-8.5. They prefer moderately hard water with a dH range of 10-20.
