The Serpae is a colourful tetra with an amber/brown body, Black Dorsal fins and red Caudal and anal fins. They look fantastic when swimming amongst weed in a planted community tank.
This tetra has often been given a bad reputation as a fin nipper but, providing it is kept in a group of 6 or more, it shouldn’t be any more of a menace than many of the other tetras. This means that they can live in a community tank with other comparable fish.
